This Is The Place

With Keith not being in school, I try to keep the kids busy and entertained.  At the end of October, Jeffrey had a day off, so we decided to go to the This Is The Place Pioneer Park.  Jeffrey dragged his heels, not wanting to go, but in the end was very glad he did.

It was an ideal day to be out and about.  The sky was gorgeous and breathtaking.  A deep ocean blue that you could almost swim in. It cast a brilliant and memory inducing haze over the whole day.  Every moment I could feel the memories being made.  Honestly, the weather couldn't have been better, flirting with the 70's in late October, which is unheard of in Utah.  Quite often, there is snow on Halloween here.

Surprising for us, we chose a day to go to the Park when they were doing all kinds of Halloween activities.  Trick or Treating at all of the houses and buildings, panning for gold, a candy cannon, story time with a real live witch, pony rides, etc.  So. Much. Fun!!

I mostly was in love with the ambiance, though.  The golden leaves against the dirt road, old fashioned buildings, and the feel of it all was intoxicating.  I took way too many pictures, and we all had so much fun.  So much so that we bought a year round pass so that I can return with the kids any time I want.

I love this mirror.  All hazy and beautiful!

It was a beautiful day, and it helped to grow my deep love and respect for all the pioneers.  Can't wait to go back again!

On the way home, I saw this building and fell in love with it.  Salt Lake City is such a great city!

You're right. VERY cool ambience. And I love you new Christmas header, too, thinking of ambience.

Merry Christmas to all of you!
