Mystery Solved

My father in law has his dream job.

He is an artist.  He gets paid, every day, to draw pictures.

He is also a journalist of sorts.  So he needs to be aware and current with all the events of the world.  On top of that, he is a bit of an insomniac.  Which comes in handy with the current events.

Often, when he has trouble sleeping, or wakes up in the night, he gets up and watches the news, or a documentary (usually historical or war documentaries).  Eventually all that learning puts him back to sleep.

Recently, he learned that he is not always alone at these times.  The other morning he had been snoozing with a show running.  He was startled awake by a soft voice saying

"Grandpa, why are you letting me watch violent shows?"

Keith was standing next to the couch, wide eyed.

I think I now know where he learned that bad word.

Consequently, if it is late at night or early in the morning, my Father in law now fights insomnia with the Backyardigans.

There is nothing better than a backyard! :)

Those little ones are sneaky, aren't they? That's a cute story! Poor Grandpa, it sounds like he'll be watching a lot of Noggin and PBS Kids for the next while... ;)

Ooops! My husband will wake up in the night and watch TV. Fortunately for him no one has come in and watched TV along with him. haha.

HAhahaha! That Keith! What a sweet boy! I taught my kids the word "inappropriate" so now they ask their dad and grandpa "Is this show inappropriate for me to watch?" Usually the sound of such a big word from such a small mouth makes them change the show asap. They watch lots of "Tom & Jerry" nowdays! :)
