Silhouette Service

Jeffrey gave me a Silhouette SD for Christmas.

It was one of the greatest gifts I have ever received.

It made my little crafting heart happy.

And then, one day, my cords were missing.  I still have the machine.  I still have the mats, the vinyl, the blades, everything.  Just not the power cords.

No one knows where they could have gone!  I always put them back in the box when I am through with them.

We searched.  We moved.  We hoped they would turn up in the packing of everything.

To no avail.

So I emailed the company.  I asked them if I could buy some replacement cords.

They were wonderful in getting back to me.  They told me that the cords are not sold separately, and that they come direct from the factory, machine and cord in one, so they didn't have any extras lying around.  They did give me the specs and told me I could find the cords in an electronics store, though.

I was relieved.  I spent the next little while calling around, looking on the internet, and driving to stores, looking for the cords.

With no hope.

And then, last week, I learned that the SD cutter is being discontinued.  They have a new machine.  Bigger and better.  Actually, I think it is smaller, but whatever.  It is the new Silhouette Cameo.
I panicked.

The word discontinued made my blood run cold.

I sent another email to the company, pleading, begging for help.  Knowing my machine would be discontinued made me fear I would never be able to use it again, and that beautiful expensive piece of machinery would just collect dust and remind me to be more careful with my things.

They responded yesterday, and really made me so happy.  They told me that they would send me new cords since I couldn't find any that would work for mine.  I am elated!  I can't wait to get crafting again.  Seriously.  I have been going through crafting withdraws.  Not that I can't craft without my beautiful machine, but it sure makes things easier.

I have to say, as far as customer service goes, Silhouette is amazing.  I just love them!

oh good. i am glad you got it all worked out. and i have to laugh- OF COURSE they are coming out with something bigger-er- small and better. wonder how long it will take them to discontinue the silhouette cameo! :0) i totally have a couple things i want to make when your silhouette is up and running- of course you play with it first!

I totaly understnad the lost power cord thing... Once we found a cord that would work for our TV... (we stole it from our pc) we have sense found 4 more that would work... scary silly... I'm glad you got one that will work =)

Is the Silhouette the same as a Cricut?
