Salt Licks and Smoothies

Faye has decided she needs a salt lick.

She carried it around with her for a good couple of hours.

Evidently she is missing salt in her diet?!

I realized Keith was being awfully quiet this morning.  I went to check on him, and found him in his room.

He put himself to bed, and slept from 9:30 until 12:30 in the afternoon.  I couldn't believe it.  This is the second day in a row that he has done this.  I am so glad that he was able to recognize he needed sleep instead of turn into the little demon again, though.

While he was sleeping, Faye and I had a lot of time to play.  She LOVES showers.  I don't know why, but it is a favorite thing of hers.  I let her play in the shower while I cleaned the bathroom.  When she got out, I got to revel in her curls.
People don't really believe me when I tell them she has curly hair.  After it dries, and she plays for a while, she sort of rubs the curl out of her hair and it looks mostly straight with a little wave.
This is her hair, right out of the shower.  Well, I pulled the top back, but no product, no playing with it, just her hair.  And I love it.  I hope it stays curly so I can teach her to love it.

This afternoon, as a reward for cleaning their room, the kids and I made smoothies.  They were delicious.  Mostly because they had a little bit of ice cream in with it.
Smoothies on a summer day are gorgeous.  Some days just need a little treat.

Going off of what I learned yesterday, we had Provencial soup for dinner, and homemade bread.  There were a lot of raised eyebrows, but all but one bowl full were devoured.  It made me feel good.  I love when my food is completely consumed.  It is the biggest compliment of all.

Tomorrow is my last day of work.

I am so excited to get back to a normal life.  The life I chose.  A life more like today.

Oh my gosh, what cute hair she has! Awww! And I'm sure you're using a sea salt now instead of the crappy iodized salt stuff they try to pass off as salt....right? Okay, if you aren't then you'd better switch it over because that stuff does more harm than good and True, Real salt from mountains and seas is really important for our bodies!

Anyway, God bless you!
Love Trish

We love the sea salt, too.

How funny that Keith put himself to bed!

And I'm drinking green smoothies every day now, hoping it will lower my blood pressure and blood sugar like it did for a friend of mine.

Is he tuckered out from preschool?

Our youngest walks around looking quite shocked from starting kindergarten!
