Remember When Nap Time Was Sacred?

Nap time.

The proverbial time when Mothers have a chance to do the things they can't with little ones awake.

It was a time I cherished.  A time I relished.  A time that seems to be long gone.

Ever since the kids started sharing a room, they have had to take turns with nap time.

It was the only way.

When I tried to put them down together, Faye would play and wake up Keith, or Keith would wake up first, and wake up Faye.  It just didn't work.

But then today, we had a stroke of genius.

Jeffrey and I were cleaning.  Both kids were exceptionally tired.  We tried putting them down together, but it didn't work.

Of course.

We got Faye up and tried to get Keith to sleep, hoping that after he was asleep we could put Faye down and she wouldn't wake him up.

And then, Jeffrey pulled out the pack'n'play.  She was so excited to see it!

We put her in, she curled up and went right to sleep.

I was then able to get some good cleaning done.

The fridge is cleaned out.

A masterpiece.  A work of art.  Those were Jeffrey's words.

We got the kids rooms cleaned up and out.  Toys were packed up and shipped off to the DI.  We are getting things ready to move.

Games are boxed up now.

All of these things were done during nap time.

Though, I have to confess the fridge cleaning was done on Saturday during nap time.

I am hoping that this trend will stick.  I have to say, it is lovely to possibly have this time back.

Absolutely dreamy.

And in other news, remember how excited I was to get my book in the mail?  Imagine my excitement when this arrived!

Jeffrey ordered it for me.

A girl's best friend.

I now, for the first time, have my own computer.  Yay!

Okay you are almost a total genius- now if you had used both of them sleeping to do whatever you wanted and have you time then I would be in awe ;)

I was going to suggest using a pack and play in a different room, but your husband beat me to it! We did that for quite a while with our two older boys. Our youngest one just doesn't nap. At all. Since he was, like, 18 months. So I certainly know what you mean about the sacred nap time--I miss it!

PS - Love your new computer! I have a red one of my very own too! Have fun!
YESS!Nap time is still a sacred time for me! Your fridge is amazing!! Great job! I soo need to clean out mine!!
LOVE the Dell notebook! It will go with your red lipstick! LOL... So cute! Your hubs did a great job!

Your fridge makes me hungry. LOL! So pretty! And so many colors in there!

Nap times are a thing of the past here. Well, Teage takes a nap still. And Leo will fall asleep on the couch if he's really tired, but naps, all four at once, just don't happen. I miss my time. That is why I can not wait for them to be all in school! That's not going to happen for a very long time.

And yay for new computers! Red is very nice!!
I have nap issues with my twins. I call them dueling banjos! I'm glad you got to clean.

I love the new computer... VERY SNAZZY!!!! Enjoy (and keep it away from the kiddos)!!!!

What a sweet little toy! You will be forever in love with that! I got my first laptop in 03--mostly because hubby didn't want to share his! haha. I have always had one since!

Naps! Oh how I miss those. Use them wisely. I will say, now with my youngest at 5, I am ever closer to being able to more me stuff as I have my oldest to watch the kids when I need it.

PS I am linking up with you today.

Awwww...cute laptop! Happy and sweet just like you!

I remember naptime for kids and grands quite fondly. I still remember nap time for me...cuz I definitely need one today!
Sometimes on a quiet weekend day after a busy week we make all the girls nap, even our almost 8 year old! We need the break, too. Sometimes we nap, sometimes we have a mini-date.

Yay! Gotta love your own computer! Just because its a laptop, doesn't mean that you want it on your lap though. I recently watched a video that was talking about the health risks of using laptops on your lap. Just to pass that one on to you.
Also, good work during nap time! I'm always stressed out trying to decide what is the most important thing to do during naptime. Sometimes I just waste it online! Ahh! Speaking of naptime, its over now and I hear little googly doos and other random sounds coming from his room...ta ta!

Hurray on the computer. And I LOVE the color.

Glad the synchronized napping thing worked, too. Hope that continues...

Oh my gosh, it's RED. I love it. I love red. I have laptop envy. My laptop is so old that I can't actually move it or the battery dies instantly. It's a pain.

I WISH I could get stuff done during nap time. I always try. I usually fail. I'm still not sure why. The blog may have something to do with it. . .

Coming over from EmmyMom. She says you create a magical childhood for your kids, so I'm here to copycat you. :-)
