My Week in a Nut Shell

Yesterday was our anniversary.

My computer is still kaput.  I am excited for the day when I will have my own again.

I made Jeffrey two shirts.  He loves them, but I feel bad that they are obscure references and every time he wears them he has to explain to everyone what they say.  But they are now his favorite, so I guess that is the important thing, right?  The shirts say
  • "Don't Panic" in reference to The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
  • "The cake is a lie...The cake is a lie,... The cake is a lie...The cake is a lie"  In reference to a video game he loves called Portal.
  • "Jack Flack always escapes" in reference to Cloak and Dagger.
  • and finally "TNETENNBA" in reference to one of his favorite tv shows called The IT Crowd.

We didn't really do anything for our anniversary.  Just our usual game night with friends.  Shem brought us some subs.  Delicious!  An eggplant Parmesan sub.  I am in love!  Jeffrey got a meatball sub.  He quite liked it as well.  My mother in la brought us a veggie supreme pizza.  It was awesome.  Today we were going to go out for lunch, but Jeffrey needed to go to work at the last minute, so my awesome friend Heather brought over lunch for the two of us.  Thai.  Oh. My. Goodness!  I have never really had Thai before, and now I may have found a new favorite.  Move over Greek food!  We are going to try for tomorrow now for a romantic dinner.  Hopefully the weather will cooperate.  Evidently, people like to give us food to help us celebrate.  I am okay with that.  Keeping me out of the kitchen and from having to dishes (my least favorite job in all the world) is probably the best gift anyone could give me.  Thanks everyone!

Keith is hilarious.  Today I heard him playing with his toys.  He said "We must fight the gentle breeze!  Get it boys, take down the gentle breeze before it gets us!"  I wonder if he knows what a gentle breeze is.  Silly boy.

Faye is as cute as ever.  I am amazed with how well she understands everything.  I can ask her to do anything, and she will go do it.  "Go give this to your dad."  "Go get a book."  "Go wake up your brother." I love how well she minds, and that she basically understands everything we say.  When she is hungry, she gets into the drawer (kid plates and cups) and gives me a bowl, or plate, or all of the bowls.  She eats a lot.  Today she ate 3/4 of a pizza.  By.her.self.  And she wanted more! Love that girl.

I like food. I fondly recall the days after giving birth to Rowan because of all the food that was brought to us- it just so great to be able to eat well, but to not have to cook and dirty up the kitchen! :0)

I think it's fun that his references are obscure. Makes for a great conversation-starter!

I loved Cloak and Dagger, I'll have to rent that to watch, been since I was a kid.

You have awesome family and friends!
