Its All About Me

This post is all about me.

Well, mostly me.

I was invited to run a 5K this weekend.  Well, not run, but walk a 5K just doesn't sound as cool.

I have never done anything like that before.  I am pretty darn excited.  As I have said before, I would eventually like to run a marathon.  This is a good beginning, I think.

Also, I learned a valuable lesson this past weekend.
See, Jeffrey and I were fighting.  I really can't remember why.  Probably we were just irritable due to lack of space.  The point is we were squabbling over something that really didn't matter.  But all Friday and most of Saturday consisted of cold silences, and irritable responses.

Saturday I decided I couldn't handle it anymore.  In between conference sessions I decided to go hiking.  I stepped outside and the bitter cold really deterred me.  I decided instead to go work on the house.  We had a showing so I wanted to open all the curtains, turn up the heat, and make sure everything was looking nice.  When I finished, I still had an hour and a half before Conference started again.

I made a spur of the moment decision.

I grabbed a coupon out of an add that had come that day, and headed on over to the local beauty school.  I needed a trim really bad.  When she asked me what I wanted with it, I told her to chop it all off.

Yes, you heard me, I told her to chop it all off.  And she did.

I don't know what it is about having babies, but for some reason, right after Keith was born I got it cut very short.  With Faye, I just got it cut the same way.  Well, really I chopped it because I was mad at Jeffrey.  He likes my hair long.  I was being a brat.  Also, I got it chopped off because Faye loved to intertwine her fingers in the curls and then yank on it.  Ouch!

I have to say, it took me quite a while to get used to it.  I still am not used to it.  But I like it.  I had my hair this short in high school and several times since.  It is just a shock to go from half way down my back to above my shoulders.  But I am loving it.  Faye is a little confused.  She keeps reaching up trying to grab hair that isn't there.  I have to laugh about that.  No hair for her to pull.  Sweet!

I will post a picture later today.  I didn't take one yet.

But Jeffrey is starting to like it, so though it was done out of spite, it is nice for both of us now.  And in a year and a half, it will be that long again, so no worries.

And here are some photos of the kids.

I bet you look great! My hubby loves long hair, too, and feels like every time I get a hair cut, its a personal affront to him. Silly boys!

I like that you give the kids both sides of Easter the fun bunny and eggs and the real meaning... We tryed to help Sammy with the real meaning but the atonment and resarection just flew over her head and she kept giving me the huh look... Oh well at least we tryed....

Cute pictures of the kids. You should run a marathon. I ran one the year I turned 30. It was something I've always wanted to do so I did it... and I've been pregnant or nursing pretty much ever since and it made running difficult. I've just now picked it back up again and am running during the girls naptime on the days I don't have to work. I wish I was up to running another marathon, though, but I'm far from it!!

Well, kinda run, I'm not a really it's just a dumb plan. :) The pictures of the kids are SO cute, I bet they had a great Easter.

When we forget about ourselves is when the problems begin. I've got experience in that!
