Random Thoughts Friday

I keep thinking today is Saturday! Mainly because today is a holiday (Pioneer Day) and so Jeffrey is home all day. What a great thing it is to have two Saturdays in a row!

To celebrate the holiday my in laws came over and played video games with the hubs. It was nice to visit with them. I am slowly learning more and more of my Darling's ancestry. Evidently he had a great grandmother who was on the first voyage to Antarctica. That is pretty neat. What a rich heritage we both come from. Last year I learned lots of great things about my ancestry as well.

So, in honor of our pioneer ancestors I am just going to go through a few random things jumping around in my head.

Popcorn:


For example, did you know you could pop popcorn right on the cob? Me neither, but evidently you can. And it's pretty tasty this way too.
Keith:


Keith woke up from his nap. Evidently monsters had been sucking on his head while he was sleeping.
Eating:

He also discovered a way of eating through osmosis. Just get it near the mouth, and that is good enough.
Projects:

This is my stuffed owl that I finally finished. I am not going to do the onsie, because I lack the patience. It took me forever to get just the owl done and I am pretty much fed up with the sewing machine (though I just remembered I have a pair of pants that I have to make by Tuesday). I guess it is a good thing I am trying out these projects now while my family is so small. Also, it's a good thing babies aren't very judgemental because I messed up a lot. But what can you expect for a first attempt?

Your owl is super cute! My frist project had lots of mistakes... But the more you sew the better you get and the easier it becomes... Trust me... Once you get the basics you can do so much! I'm hoping to get the blessing dress done and halloween outfits for my two girl as well... all before little sister comes... I know I'm crazy... Enjoy your saterdays =)

your owl turned out darling. i get really frustrated with sewing machines, they don't seem to do what i want it to do (sew it by itself) thank goodness for my mom.

I know that young people must have jobs. They have to start somewhere, but really, there has got to be some sort of intelligence test or guidelines before hiring people. Really. We bought some crown molding a while ago. I thought we would have enough. Turns out, as we were getting ready to put it up, we found we are about 5 ln feet short. Just 5. How annoying is that? Heavenly Presents

I was getting a little worried. The baby had not changed in her weight or height for a month. Not since the 22 of October. My midwife was a little worried. She said if there wasn't a change soon, she would have to induce me. Did you know I wanted to go natural? Absolutely completely natural. I wanted to start on my own, and be completely under my own will power. Hearing that she would have to start me sent a cold fear through my body. Evidently, my baby possibly had something called IUGR ( intra uterine growth restriction) which could cause a myriad of problems, the worst being a still birth. A still birth is one of my biggest fears. So yesterday I went in to get checked, praying that my body had changed, that it had dilated on its own. If it had she wouldn't have to start me. At the appointment she gave me a choice. I could either have the baby yesterday, or I could have her on Monday. We decided to have her yesterday. So we decided my midwife would break my wate

Vegetarians at the Barbecue

We don't see our friends as often as we would like.  Something about us being the only ones married and with kids.  Whatever.  So any chance to have them all come play is a welcome one.  Since Jeffrey just had a birthday, we decided to have a barbecue tonight. We are having a barbecue and we don't eat meat.  Kind of ironic, isn't it?  When I thought about it, this video came to mind.
