Nostalgia At It's Best

I love antiques.

Have I ever mentioned that?

I found an antique treasure the other day, and am so excited to get it fixed up.

It is going to need a lot of work, but I am willing to give it.

Once I get it fixed up I will post before and after photos.

On another topic, this is the beginning of my family reunion that I was put in charge of. I may be sparse this week, due to reunion duties. I quite possibly will still be able to update, but that is completely dependent upon my son's naps.

Gosh, I love summer!
I went out this morning to get something from the car, and had a crazy craving for watermelon and Popsicles. It was hot, and the sultry air and the calm breeze just sang into my spirit.

I wanted to be 10 again, riding my bike around the neighborhood, dropping the bike when I saw some sprinklers, and once I was thoroughly soaked, I would lie on the frying cement to warm up and dry off.

That was a time of shoeless reckless abandon (okay, really, who wears shoes in the summer anyway?).
Kick the can at night, and hide and go seek in the neighbor's yards in the day time.

Yup, I have got serious nostalgia.

Too bad my house is so messy. I can't play with a clean conscience with this mess. Sigh.

And I can't clean it either, because I am too excited to get my beautiful antique fixed up.

Maybe I will just revert back to my ten-year-old-no-responsibility-self and go out and play with Keith anyway.
Yup that sounds like a good plan.

Have a sticky hot yummy day!

How fun!!! I just found one of my next projects... I'm going to make my little girls blessing dress! I found the fabric and the pattern now I have to wait for it to come on sale... But projects are so much more fun than cleaning but I do feel better once I get my house all clean...

I was craving watermelon too, but it was always so expensive in Texas! I'm glad I could enjoy some here! Yum!

the epitome of summer for me is fun dip, big hot pretzels and jolly ranchers....used to eat those at the community pool all summer long.

So how did you get the old radio that we all wanted is what I want to know? Did we draw names out of a hat and you got it?

Sometimes I feel sorry for my children, because they'll probably never get to play kick the can with the neighborhood on summer nights. That is definitely one of my top childhood memories.
