Adventures in Babysitting

Well, it is now day three of my wonderful retreat and things are going according to plan.

Well, not exactly, but they are going well.

It is raining a lot, but honestly, I love the lightning and thunder, and the smell of the rain, especially out in this rural area! But it sure makes it difficult to get out and do things. Tonight we were going to go enjoy free popcorn and a picnic in the park, but I am worried that is not going to work due to the rain. Sigh.

But did I mention that fresh baked cookies mix with rain beautifully? Well, they do.

Okay, enough about my love of the weather, let me tell you about my adventures.

Keith has begun to call me "Amy" because he hears it so often from the niece and nephew. Not quite sure how I feel about it.

This morning my nephew came down the stairs crying. His sister was down with me, so I knew it couldn't be due to their sibbling squabbles. He had stuffed a marble up his nose, and with all confidence that I could get it out, came to me.

I got it out.

Lots of fun thus far.

I can't wait to see what tomorrow brings!

I love the smell of rain too! Especially, the new stuff when it falls on the dry pavement. It has such a nice musty smell.

Is that weird for you? I think having my kids call me by my first name would geek me out a little too much.
Ah, the smell of my childhood memories, drying pavement after a rainfall. It really is one of life's pleasures, isn't it?
Sorry about the button confusion. I will get it fixed as soon as I can.
The rain didn't stop for the movie night, but no worries, we did it anyways inside. It was a lot of fun.
