The Bribe

Today was a rough day for both Keith and me. I have no idea why it was so rough, but by the end of the day we both just needed to cuddle. We curled up on the couch and I held him and he held his bear, and we just snuggled and watched Peter Pan together, enjoying the closeness and security, awaiting the arrival of our knight in shinning armor.

Jeffrey walked through the door and saved the day.

He took one look at the two pitiful figures huddled together wanting to fly away with Peter and Wendy, and announced a much needed trip to the pet store to lift our moods.

I untangled Keith from my neck, ignoring his protests, and we loaded him in the car, screaming and tearfilled as he was. We took a little trip to Pets Mart and Keith had so much fun running from the kitties (I really really want one) to the birds to the fish to the rodents (he called bunnies) to the lizards. Over and over he completed this cycle while one of his parents chased him and the other looked at fish tanks, fish, food, and all the other fun things that go along with owning the world's easiest pet.

After about thirty minutes of chasing the energizer bunny boy, we made a selection, and hurried home with our purchase. We would know like to introduce the newest member of our family.

A name has not been chosen yet. Keith calls it Ishie, I am toying with Gil, and Jeffrey has made no comment. Any suggestions? If we pick your name, a prize will be lovingly sent to you! I don't know what the prize is yet, but I just decided it would be fun to make this a contest. What would you name our beautiful Beta?

I'm glad to see you went to the pet store and walked out with a fish instead of a puppy! :)

congrats! our beta will be 3 yrs old this august! i originally got him for my 3rd graders, but he ended up in our home after that first year. his name is "chuck norris." don't ask me why. i think my husband was reading a guiness book of work records book and chuck norris was in it when i asked him what the fish's name should be.

Oh how cute! And those betta fish last A LONG TIME.

If you feel like dropping a lil of money on ishie/gil/noname go to ebay and look up "biorb"

they are amazing!

Your hubby sounds sweet.
How about Alpha? Or Alphie?
How about "Electric Blue" or just "Blue" for short?

BTW- I voted for your blog through Underdogs Unite (under Jasahab). If you get a chance please vote for me too! We are running for four different categories. Here is one of the links:

Thanks so much!

I vote for Gil! Hopefully he has a few scars to help him live up to his name (you know, Gil from Finding Nemo). Then you would win your own prize!

You all have such good ideas! Jeffrey is rooting for Moby Dick or Fillet-o. He is weird, I know. We will discuss when he gets home tonight, and I will give you the results tomorrow!
