Yesterday Faye was brilliant.
She is always very smart, but she really outdid herself yesterday.
It began in the morning. I sat down with her as she was drawing pictures, and guiding her hand, taught her how to write her name.
Later in the day, I came across a picture she had drawn, and signed. I was so proud!
Later last night, we were in her room getting ready for bed, she proudly said
"Mommy, I didn't swallow my gum!"
She is not yet allowed to chew gum because every time we have given her some, she has chewed it for a few minutes and then swallowed it.
I smiled at her, and said, "Good job." I was distracted. Changing her diaper (because she told me she never wants to wear undies, she only wants diapers. Sigh) and getting her clothes on was all consuming as she wiggled around, trying to play and get away. When I finished, she pointed to her bed, the top bunk, and again proudly declared she didn't swallow her gum, and then ran out of the room.
Curious, I climbed the ladder.
It was sticky.
I got to the top and found several empty gum wrappers.
Stuck to the top of her headboard.
Clearly, she had slobbered a lot, and gotten it all over every surface near her.
And another work of art on the wall.
I couldn't help but laugh.
I was glad she wasn't in the room, because it was really very funny, but I don't want to encourage that kind of behavior.
I took a picture and then set about cleaning it up.
That girl is freaking hilarious.
