Faye's Gift

Waiting.

Ears straining

Listening

Waiting

Eating salty snacks

Waiting and listening

Drinking lots and lots of juice

Waiting

And then...

An accident.  All over the floor.

Clean it up.  Repeat.

Waiting.

Snacks.

Waiting.

Drinks.

Waiting.

And then...

a small sound.  Not sure if it is what we were waiting for.  The sound grows louder.

Tinkle,tinkle,tinkle.

Like water hitting plastic.
Jubilation!

"Mommy!  Peepee!"  She said, jumping up and pointing.

I swooped her up into a big tight squeeze, gave her a big kiss and a small handful of gummy bears.  Her treat.

We ran upstairs yelling the good news so the whole house could hear.  There can never be too much positive reinforcement, right?

Then do it all again.

That is how my morning has gone, and how the rest of the days for the rest of the week will most likely go.

But it is so worth it.

She went twice today!  Once in her undies, and twice in the potty.
Again, the exhilaration is breath snatching.

Just think.  By this time next week (if the stars are aligned and fate is on my side) we may be completely through with buying diapers!

Happy early birthday to me!  or Jeffrey.  Depending on which way you look at it.

That.Is.So.Exciting!!! I am jealous! My son is 3 and I want him to be done, but he just will not sit on the potty himself. I can't get him to go to the potty when he has to go. He will go if I make him go on the potty, but he won't do it on his own. It's so sad. At this point I just HAVE to give up. I tried putting him in undies today and lost it when he had an accident...of course I didn't show him, but I just can't anymore. :) Potty training has defeated me! Your doing great! Keep up the great job!

YAY Faye,What a GREAT job!!! Way to go mama, you are doing fantastic too!!!

I am waiting for signs from Aliya telling me she is ready to start. My oldest was completely potty trainded around 19 months, my middle not until almost 3 1/2... I guess I just wait it out & see which one she is going to be. LOL.

It's always so nice once they trained. Not so fun doing it, but it sounds like she is coming right along...
